- About the piece: Sadly enough, almost no land within the African continent has been spared from European colonial hunger. Even tiny Belgium carved out the center of Africa, in what is now the modern-day Democratic Republic of the Congo, along with Rwanda and Burundi. Around 1961, when Prince Louis Rwagasore won his position as a Prime Minister by a landslide, he was assassinated 16 days into his term. New evidence points towards Belgium having their hands dirty and ultimately causing a rift between the ethnic groups of Burundi, which Rwagasore was about to fix.
