ROSS TURPIN
Ross Turpin is a mixed-media artist and tattoo artist from South Africa. Landed in Hong Kong in 2010, he used to run Star Crossed Tattoo on Star Street which specialises in bold, traditional tattoos. Turpin’s style derives from traditional Japanese tattooing to create figurative and abstract art inspired by personal growth through recurring visions. He portrays the images of flora and fauna using a limited colour palette, simplified shapes and outlines, along with dripping and flattened bursts of colour and overt symbolism. He is known for his signature red and green pill tag that permeates through the city.
