Although best known for his work as a tattoo artist, Richard Phipson has utilised his diverse expertise in a variety of areas. His current series explores themes such as Death. Worship. Pain. Transcendence.
These works focus on humanity and the commonalities that unite us. Phipson uses the skull which signifies both our mortality and the unseen that exists within all of us. Beneath the skull motif is a presence looking up, searching for a way out.
Works from this series are predominantly ink on paper, alongside some mixed media pieces; Ink, Acrylic, Coffee, and Tattoo Ink.
