Rain Chan is an award winning architect, artist, curator and educator based in Hong Kong and New York. Graduated from the Cooper Union, Chan is currently a lecturer at HKBU, Academy of Visual Arts and assistant lecturer at HKU, Department of Architecture. Chan’s interest lies in architecture and technology’s cross-disciplinary potentials and capacity to engage critically with political and economic structure through the use of aesthetics. Fluent in 2D and 3D digital tools and traditional craft alike, Chan works with a wide range of mediums such as digital modeling, digital animation, fabrication, painting, rendering and collaging.
Chan’s work has been shown at the Museum of Modern Art, Wuzhen Art, SZHK Bi-City Biennale, Countless Cities Biennale, NYC X Design and other institutions. He is also writing academic papers on the topics of Contemporary Cyberpunk, Ornate Mascotization and Digital Aesthetic Ontology.
