Alyssa Tang is a visual artist and architectural designer born and raised in Toronto. Currently completing her Masters of Architecture at the University of Hong Kong, Alyssa has been pursuing art in parallel with her exploration in spatial design. Her Canadian Chinese identity combined with a transient educational journey has molded her values in diversification of culture, knowledge and interests. Alyssa’s recent work focuses on the exploration of the body, specifically the sculptural materiality of flesh, highlighting the beauty of forms, colours and textures of the body. This recent series pushes the boundary of ‘disrupted realism’, intentionally deconstructing and masking out parts of the body, inviting viewers to participate in the imagination and creation of the piece.
